MARA GRIMES
Vice President

Mara Grimes is the Program Manager and Development Manager at Art in Action. She is responsible for helping schools maintain their art programs and coordinate community events. Mara works on developing, revising and evaluating the Art in Action curricula for the school program in both book format and their new Online Lessons.  She is also involved in docent training, writes the monthly e-newsletter, and researches and writes grants for the organization.

Mara received her B.A. from San Francisco State University and earned her multiple subject teaching credential from Notre Dame de Namur. She has worked in her children’s schools developing a Literacy Month program, bringing the Art in Action program to her children's school, serving on Site Council and PTA Boards. She currently serves on several boards including the Performing Arts for Youth Society, as well as the Peninsula Arts Council. She is also a member of The Peninsula Symphony Auxiliary. She will soon step down as the Aragon Music Booster Co-President after two terms where she actively helped support the Aragon High School Music department's trip to the Beijing Cultural Olympics in June 2008.  When not at school or work she loves to dabble in art, travel, garden, read, listen to music, cook for friends, and take long walks on the beach with her family and their two dogs.
