Artists Statement:
I strive to achieve an ephemeral or atmospheric mood in my paintings by shrouding the subjects in shadowy mist and mystery to evoke a sense of light and dark drama. Realistic images then, in this setting, idealistically become almost fleeting in their abstracted or impressionist state, and, therefore, contemporize what would otherwise be very traditional oil paintings. My totally abstract paintings do not necessarily reflect this approach.
Career Highlights:

Mixed exhibit, Belmont Arts Council gallery, June, July, 2008
Current art session coach for people with memory impairment

Bio:
I was born in New York State where I was encouraged by a neighbor at a young age to take up painting as a hobby. So began my addiction to making art and experimenting with various media as I continued on my journey through the world of art and art history. After moving to the Bay Area in the 60's, I formalized my art experience by enrolling in a college arts program to acquire my BA in art from then called College of Notre Dame, in Belmont, CA.
