She retired in 2000 from a career in public broadcasting at KCSM-TV and FM, where she was the Program Information Director, following earlier positions in radio programming and operations.  For 12 years she hosted a weekly choral music program, Exultate, on KCSM-FM.

Zanardi is a founding board member and former president of City Arts of San Mateo and is on the advisory board of the Peninsula Arts Council, of which she was a founding board member and former president. In 2003 Zanardi was the recipient of the Bravo Award recognizing her long service in the arts on the Peninsula. In 2002 the San Mateo City Council recognized Zanardi for her work in developing City Arts' Central Park Music Series.  In 1996 she was presented the Art Star award as outstanding arts volunteer in San Mateo County.

Bonny is married to Richard Zanardi, a television producer/director and board member of Millbrae Cable Television. Her daughter, Jocelyn Atkins, is studying in New York and in May 2010 will receive her MPA in international policy and management from NYU.
